IT Technical Sales

The primary role of an IT Technical Salesperson is to sell a company’s technical products and services. They need a good knowledge and understanding of the portfolio of technologies that are available. They work to maintain good relationships with existing clients, gaining repeat business wherever possible from customers both internal and external, UK or internationally. They also approach potential customers with the aim of winning new business. They maintain a thorough understanding of existing technologies and those that are emerging. 

Infrastructure Technician

If you enjoy taking on a challenge, being analytical and working with the latest technologies, then an Infrastructure Technician Apprenticeship is for you!

An Infrastructure Technician Apprentice provides support to internal and external customers, helping them to be productive when using technologies to complete their daily duties, by using cutting-edge tools to solve problems and trouble shoot a broad range of client issues and queries.

This role is extremely rewarding but also challenging, as you are keeping up to date with the latest technologies to meet the continuously evolving requirements of the organisation!

Software Developer

Interested in completing an Apprenticeship as a Software Developer? You could become an Application Developer, a Blue Mix App Developer or even a Web Developer throughout this program!

You’ll learn how to write, build and test simple, high-quality code across front end, logic and database layers whilst also developing effective user interfaces, link code to data sources & analyse test results to correct errors.

Software Tester

Software Test Specialists are essential in the development of our client solutions. They are experts at finding and fixing problems, even before they become issues!

As a Software Tester, you will be assisting our key clients as they introduce new technologies and software’s into their business. Not only that, but you’ll also be responsible for designing and preparing test plans, reporting test activity results and most importantly, playing a vital role in your team!

If you’re enthusiastic, curious, have a desire to be analytical and creatively solve problems whilst enjoying being a part of an integrated team, then this role is for you!

Professional Accountant

Our Professional Accountants don’t just manage the books for IBM! These days, we need our accounts to be commercial analysts!

You’ll be working with large and challenging financial and commercial elements of complex contracts. It will be your responsibility to provide expertise financial and commercial advice to Delivery Partners, ensuring successful outcomes for both the client and IBM.

Traditional accounting activities are still carried out, including invoice preparations and the production of financial accounts and plans. However, the best thing, you’ll have the opportunity to work with some of the globes biggest business accounts! All of this, and the chance to complete professional certification in CIMA as well!

HR Consultant

As an HR Consultant Apprentice, you will have the terrific opportunities to gain all understanding and experiences of various HR roles right across the business!

Our HR Apprentices will typically rotate around different HR teams, to allow you to explore all departments and develop all your skills! Some of these areas include: Recruitment, HR Partner Organisation, Compensation & Benefits and Business Operations. You will take complete ownership of strategic projects and processes for the HR organisation, working with our UK and Global HR Partner team.

The Apprenticeship qualification is a level 5 Higher Apprenticeship and will also lead to CIPD membership & accreditation.

Associate Project Manager

As an Associate Project Manager, you’ll receive all the exposure and opportunities you need to learn what it takes to be a project manager. You’ll be working closely with experienced IBMers, delivery professionals and mentors in an interactive and collaborative environment.

Throughout this role, you’ll be continually implementing and developing your problem-solving skills, building relationships and interacting with clients, which is a great way to increase your network! Not only that, you’ll also be responsible for understanding what needs to be achieved on a project, as well as organising how it will be achieved, implementing time-scales and discussing costs.

Overall, this role is a great opportunity for you to develop fundamental skills that you can utilise throughout your career as well as working and networking with IBMers and clients from all backgrounds!

Junior Management Consultant

If you want to learn the fundamentals of consulting as well as develop your skills to kick-start your career, then look no further!

As a Junior Management Consultant, you will combine cutting edge methodologies & knowledge of the industry and business with the latest technologies to deliver the best projects for a diverse range of clients.

You’ll be responsible for understanding and interpreting clients’ requirements, using evidence to support recommendations and conclusions and supporting proposals and the creation of solutions to help our clients improve their business outcomes!

Chartered Business Management Degree

Degree apprenticeships allow you to work and achieve a Bachelors Honors degree at the same time.  You will also get Chartered manager status from the Chartered Manager Institute.  You will be doing a real role at IBM and using what you learn in the workplace as part of your degree.  Our degree apprentices work in a variety of roles including project management, sales, business analysis and operations management. Degree apprentices develop a broad range of management skills including: operational strategy, project management, finance, sales & marketing, digital business & new technologies, stakeholder, customer & supplier management, communication, leadership and personal effectiveness.  There's an opportunity to experience University life and meet apprentices from other organisations during days at University.  On our Pearson College rotational degree apprenticeship, some of our apprentices have the opportunity to experience a work placement at a different organisation.  

IBM degree apprentices are currently studying at Pearson College, London.  Choice of University is made in response to the needs of our IBM businesses. Time at University is typically one day a week and you will be required to work during University vacations.

Digital & Technology Solutions Degree

Degree apprenticeships allow you to work and achieve a Bachelors Honors degree at the same time.  You will be doing a real role at IBM and using what you learn in the workplace as part of your degree.  Our degree apprentices work in a variety of roles including cyber security & technical specialists, project managers, prototype developers, service managers, IT architects, business analysts & application support.  Degree apprentices develop a broad range of technical and business skills, including: information systems, systems development, data, cyber security, business organisations, project management and computer & network infrastructure.  You will also take modules to develop your skills in a technical specialism.  There's an opportunity to experience University life and meet apprentices from other organisations during days at University and interactive learning sessions.

IBM degree apprentices are currently studying at University of Exeter, Queen Mary University of London and Manchester Metropolitan University.  Choice of University is made in response to the needs of our IBM businesses.  Time at University is typically one day a week and you will be required to work during University vacations.
