During the afternoon of the Summit we held the four city workshops and covered challenges and barriers for each and then focused on actions in the medium and long term. To assist us with this we enlisted the help of mind-mapping techniques, the output from this can be seen below.

Leeds: Delivering the vision for 2030

Leeds focused on unlocking value and driving economic growth to achieve the ambition of being the UK's Best City by 2030.

Glasgow: Regeneration and economic development

Glasgow focused on how employment could generate economic growth for the city. With a special focus on poverty and social vulnerability issues and the increasing demand on public services in the context of reducing resources.

Burnley: Creating a connected city

The aim of the connected city is to provide businesses and education services, including universities, with access to super-fast broadband service, enabling it to drive growth and transform the way its services are provided and accessed.

Fareham: Building a sustainable community

Fareham Borough Council is working with organisations, including Hampshire County Council, to plan for a new community to the north of Fareham. It is aiming to maximise self-containment within the new settlement to meet its future residents’ needs for transport and other facilities, and encouraging alternatives for travelling by car.
