The challenge of generating sustainable energy systems

Smart energy solutions will be the key to achieving a sustainable future. Much of today’s energy infrastructure is a product of systems that were designed and established in the 20th century. If we’re to meet the demands of the 21st century and beyond - the energy industry needs to be transformed.

True energy sustainability will involve multiple stakeholders across different industry sectors, government departments and international bodies. So the debate needs to move from the “when” and “what” to the “how” and “how soon”.

We brought together key stakeholders whose commitment will be essential to the new energy paradigm. New ways of working together will be required to help engage with the consumer, drive behaviour change and build a smart energy system that is economically and environmentally sustainable.
