By car
From the East
A1 (via North Berwick/Haddington/Portobello) Keep on A1 towards Edinburgh. Follow signs for CITY CENTRE (A1). A1 will continue on to the West End of Princes Street(at House of Fraser store).
Once past the store take 1st left into South Charlotte Street (as Princes Street going East is only available to Buses and Cycles). Continue along this street until the end, keeping in the right hand lane and take right into Queen Street. Continue along Queen Street through three sets of traffic lights then take right into North St Andrew Street. This will bring you into St Andrew Square and you should keep in your right hand lane and follow the road round the square where IBM is situated on the North West corner.
From the South A701 (via Penicuik)
Keep on A701 towards Edinburgh (East End) DO NOT TAKE LEFT FORK MARKED - "WEST END"
Keep on the main road to "CITY CENTRE A701" This road will take you to the centre of Edinburgh and onto Princes Street. THEN FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS AS ABOVE
From the South A68 (via Dalkeith)
Keep on A68 towards Edinburgh. Follow signs for CITY CENTRE (A68) (Old Dalkeith Road). There is one large roundabout at bottom of Old Dalkeith Road with Cameron Toll Shopping Centre on the left hand side. Drive onto to roundabout, under overhead railway line and turn left onto Dalkeith Road. Continue up Dalkeith Road, through all traffic lights, passing the Royal Commonwealth Pool, and the glass buildings of the Scottish Widows offices on the right hand side. Keep on main road down St Leonards Street, the Pleasance, through traffic lights at the bottom of Pleasance, up St Mary Street, straight through traffic lights and along Jeffrey Street. The road veers left at the back of Scot Rail WAVERLEY STATION passing under a high road bridge.
At the next 'roundabout' turn right onto Waverley Bridge towards Princes Street. Turn left and then immediately turn right into St Andrew Square up South St David Street.
Buchan House is on the same side of the square in the North West corner at its junction with North St David Street.
From the West A8 (Glasgow & Turnhouse Airport)
Keep on A8 towards Edinburgh. Follow the signs for 'CITY CENTRE' (A8). Keep on the main road passing Edinburgh Zoo on the left hand side; this will eventually bring you to the West End of Princes Street. THEN FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS AS ABOVE
Buchan House is at 21 Saint Andrew Square on the North West corner at its junction with North St David Street.
By air
Take a Taxi to IBM, Buchan House, 21 Saint Andrew Square. Buchan House is in the north west corner of the square at its junction with North St David Street.
By train
Edinburgh Waverley Station is the Rail Terminal nearest to Buchan House.
Leave the station by the vehicle approach road and at the top turn right onto Waverley Bridge. At the top of Waverley Bridge cross at the pedestrian crossing onto Princes Street, with Scott Monument and gardens to your left and the main road and shops to your right.
At Scott Monument cross Princes Street at the pedestrian crossing, with Jenners department store facing on your left and Monsoon on your right, go straight up South St David Street into Saint Andrew Square. Keep on this side of the Square. Buchan House is in the North West corner of the Square at its junction with North St David Street.
