IBM Software Maintenance (SWMA) for i5OS and AIX operating systems answers the need for a single contract that includes both software support and software updates. This is a merger between software support services, Support Line and software update services, Software Subscription, into one package that is easier to purchase and finance. Clients who are looking for one-stop shopping whenever possible can avoid the need for multiple contracts with single providers.
The purchase of one or three year of software maintenance is required at the time of the hardware product sale and can be renewed at the end of the initial term.
