| IBM Romania is the first step in setting up an Eastern European GDC. This strategy aims to maximize the benefits of a 'near-shore' center, expand the current set of competencies to support our global clients and, collaborate with other Global Delivery colleagues. |
| Currently the focus is on Bucharest and leveraging the capabilities and strengths that exist today, whilst exploring other opportunities in other countries to ensure that the Eastern European center offers a singular location for all services. |
| Our core competencies focus around the market availability of specific skill sets, these being specifically .Net, web technologies, ETL, SAP and Oracle. |
|
Our successful performance over the last year has enabled us to more than double our headcount, with plans to further grow four-fold in the coming 18 months, servicing prospective clients throughout the European regions. |
|
At the GDC EE we understand our customers literally as our team has the additional advantage of large scale foreign language skills. Due to our historical background French and German are highly available, with Italian and Spanish very easy to learn to everyone. No need to mention English for its availability, as this is highly present in schools, universities and the business environment. |
