Mr. Humayun Bashir is the Country General Manager of IBM Pakistan. He has been with IBM for 33 years and CEO/CGM for last 12 yrs. He started his career in sales and has held various positions in Sales, Marketing, Channel Operations, Direct Marketing, Services, handling industries like banking, airlines, telecom, defense, government, & manufacturing, before being promoted as Country Sales Manager in 1996. Humayun spent two years with IBM Middle East Operations based in Dubai (1998-99) where he was Regional Manager SME in charge of the Saudi, Gulf and Levant countries. He also held additional position of operations manager for Iran in 1996.
He holds an Engineering Degree and received training in business administration, marketing and communications at different IBM centers in Europe and the US, besides courses at IBA Karachi, Insead France , La Hulpe Belgium , and Armonk USA. Humayun is also among the certified Directors under the IFC/Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance BDS program.
He serves on the Board of Directors of Silkbank , and advisory council of business school IBA in Karachi. He is active member of Aman Ki Asha Initiative for Trade and Relations with India. He has been active with the Chambers and is currently President of American Business Council and VP of OICCI ( Overseas Investors Chamber) He has been a Rotarian in the past and member of management and marketing associations of Pakistan.
