Overview
IBM has a strong commitment to Education and in particular to meeting the emerging e-learning requirements for Education.
As an example, IBM has created an Institute to focus on this arena from a strategy and research perspective – the IBM Institute of Advanced Learning. It is a global organization under the leadership of the Zurich laboratory in Rueschlikon. The Institute of Advanced Learning focuses on both the technology and the human factors of e-learning.
IBM also plays a leading role in major initiatives related to ICT skills and e-learning, like the Career-Space Consortium and the E-Learning Industry Group.
IBM has a long history of productive collaboration with universities around the world and there is a strong desire on the part of IBM Senior Executive Management to bring some of the best practices in these fields.
IBM is ready to discuss with any University how part or all of these programs and offerings can be implemented and how this activity can be formalized in a Memorandum of Understanding or other contractual documents. IBM collaborates actively with universities around the world in the establishment of state-of-the-art education programs. In particular, IBM proposes that the programs listed next be considered as the basis for a comprehensive collaborative program with a University.
