Frank Soltis
IBM Chief Scientist
Dr. Frank Soltis holds the title of IBM Chief Scientist. He is the creator of the technology-independent machine interface and the single-level addressability that led to a totally new breed of computers, including the AS/400 and the System i. In 1991 he led the effort in IBM to define the 64-bit Power architecture that is used today in IBM servers and in numerous consumer devices, such as game consoles. Dr. Soltis is a frequent speaker at computer conferences around the world. In addition to his responsibilities in IBM, he is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Minnesota where he teaches graduate courses on advanced computer architectures.
