Guido Dedene, born in 1956, has a PhD in Sciences (Mathematics), which he received at the Catholic University of Leuven (K.U.Leuven, Belgium). He is a full professor in Management Informatics at the K.U.Leuven (Faculty of Business and Economics) and a professor in Development of Information and Communication Systems at the University of Amsterdam Business School. His teaching activities focus on Methods and Techniques of Information & Communication Systems Development, the Economics of Information & Communication Services, and the Management of Information & Communication Technology. His research includes the Model-driven Development of Information & Communication Systems and Quantitative Management Models for Information & Communication Technology and Systems. He is a member of the IEEE and ACM, and publishes regularly for conferences and in refereed journals, including IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Data and Knowledge Engineering, and the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science. In 1995 Guido Dedene received the IEEE Software Best Practice award, granted by the IEEE Computer Society. This award was granted for a breakthrough offshore outsourcing project with the Philippines. Guido Dedene has an extensive record for Academic – Industry cooperation. He was involved for more than 10 years in GUIDE & SHARE Europe, the leading mainframe computer center user group for Europe. In the K.U.Leuven Faculty of Business and Economics he is since more than 10 years coordinating the Faculty Industrial Fellows Program. He realized several sponsored research chairs at K.U.Leuven, with partners such as KBC Banking/Insurance, SAP, IBM Belgium, Microsoft & the Dutch Police. Guido Dedene is coordinating SSME for K.U.Leuven and received in 2006 an IBM Europe SSME Award for his presentation at the first International SSME Conference at IBM Palisades, NY.
