SAP has the capability of Data Archiving and Document Imaging in conjunction with third party products which are SAP Certified. SAP Data Archiving is the ability to be able to move data from the SAP Database to external storage, while still making that data available to the SAP user via the SAP GUI. SAP Document Imaging is the ability to link Scanned or other electronic documents to a SAP object, such that it can be seamlessly viewed by a SAP user through the SAP GUI. Additionally, these documents can participate in the SAP workflow if required.
IBM CommonStore for SAP is a SAP certified solution for data archiving and document management that helps SAP users to run their business more efficiently. CommonStore is also integrated to the IBM's Content Manager repository. IBM CommonStore for SAP complements the SAP ERP system with a comprehensive document management solution in order to streamline, customise and improve the way your organisation handles information flow throughout the whole business.
