In 2007 the Global Centre for Economic Development was established in Ireland. Our mission is to publish and generate thought leadership around economic development and technology. While our mission is worldwide, Ireland was chosen because of it's skills and expertise in this area.

The IBM Institute for Business Value (IBV) represents IBM's substantial commitment to and investment in business research and business thought leadership. The IBV is staffed with over 60 experienced strategy consultants worldwide who conduct industry-specific research and analysis as well as research into cross-industry functional areas. In doing so, the IBVs works in collaboration with industry experts and leading edge clients, thus leveraging the best of knowledge and expertise from both internal and external sources. Based on this research, the IBV then writes and publishes thought leadership reports that address critical business challenges and capitalize on new opportunities, all with the aim of providing value to our clients.
