Career development

During your year with us you will have 2 managers. A Task Manager and a Professional Development Manager.

Your Task Manager is there to manage you on a day to day basis - helping you with new tasks, managing your workload and giving you the opportunity to get involved with new projects. Your Professional Development Manager is there to help you with your ongoing development. It means you will always have someone focussing on your career development and your future as opposed to someone just looking at your day to day work and performance.

When you start your placement year with us you'll work with your Professional Development Manager to create a personal development plan. This will involve setting your objectives for the year, identifying training requirements and ensuring that everything you do during your year with us will help with your future career plans.

During the year you'll have regular reviews with both your task manager and your professional development manager to assess your performance against your objectives.

So, we will support you and help you develop both personally and professionally throughout your year with us. It is up to you how much you make of the fantastic training and development opportunities that are available to you here at IBM. It will only limited by your imagination.
