The first day of the Blue Fusion event was run on the 14th of March 2005 at IBM Hursley, building on the success of last year's event.

Students from thirteen schools from across Hampshire took part in a number of varied activities, from landing a rover on Mars to building a device to minimise the effect of turbulence on a cup of water, with great prizes awarding to the top three teams.
