Working within our Human Resources organisation, you’ll get involved in creating, implementing and supporting initiatives and policies that help us attract, develop, retain and motivate our employees. There are a wide range of areas you could work in. Some graduates choose to work as generalists, working closely with our business teams on all aspects of HR. Others specialist and work in areas such as compensation and benefits, learning, recruitment, workforce relations, talent management and diversity. You could end up doing a combination of both.

What all these roles will give you is a deep understanding of how HR works in a large global company and access to a huge network of people both across our business in the UK and across the globe.

Although an HR related degree is not essential, you will need to be able to demonstrate an awareness of HR issues and a desire to learn and gain experience in a wide range of areas. We are looking for high calibre candidates who are self starters and have a real passion and a genuine desire to succeed. You will need to be a strong team player with first class communication skills. You must be able to demonstrate an enthusiastic, “can do” attitude and be disciplined and organised with a strong focus on results.

You will begin your IBM career with our new hire induction program. For 2 weeks of your induction, you will participate in a simulated project focussing on client facing and project management skills.

You will be assigned a Professional Development Manager (PDM) in Foundation.You will put together an individually tailored training programme with your PDM which will include specific training that your role requires, in addition to any personal development training that you may need including Presenting with Confidence, Influencing Skills for Business etc.
