What it involves
IBM Human Capital Management (HCM) sits within IBM Global Business Services. IBM is a leader in human capital management solutions and we have a great team of more than 3,000 professionals who bring skills, competencies, knowledge sharing and experience to meet client challenges.
HCM consultants deliver strategy, operations, process, technology and outsourcing to help clients get the best from and for their people. This can include designing and implementing new HR organisational models, implementing new best practice processes across the clients business and defining the technology required to support these new processes.
There are a number of things that you can expect to get involved with. Working with ‘Learning & Solutions’ you will focus on the performance and learning issues with a clients organization and how this aligns to their business; you may work on large client projects managing their resourcing to ensure that their have the right people at the right time and in the right place; you may focus on workforce transformation – involving talent management, workforce planning and culture transformation. All of these will involve hands-on involvement in changing and improving a client’s organisation, and helping them to get more from their people.

What we look for
You must have strong inter-personal skills so you can build relationships with clients at all levels and work within ever-changing teams. You must have an analytical approach to solving problems, be a clear communicator- both orally and in writing, and be adaptable and motivated to develop further in a fast moving, multi-disciplinary environment. If you are interested in a career in HR and would relish the opportunity to be client facing this is the role for you! As the work is mainly client based, you will need to be flexible in terms of location and mobility and be prepared to work across the UK, delivering projects for our major clients

Training
You will begin your IBM career with our new hire induction program, lasting several weeks. You will be given an introduction to technology fundamentals, consulting skills and project management skills. For 2 weeks of your induction, you will participate in a simulated project focussing on client facing and project management skills. In addition to the standard graduate and induction train that you would expect to receive as an IBM graduate, we will also sponsor you to complete your CIPD.
You will be assigned a Professional Development Manager (PDM) in Foundation. You will put together an individually tailored training programme with your PDM which will include specific technical training that your role requires in addition to any personal development training that you may need including Presenting with Confidence, Influencing Skills for Business etc.
