Imagine being able to translate a live action event into a virtual world scenario. That’s the challenge that our ALPACA team faced…and overcame. After creating a virtual version of a real world environment it uses motion capture technologies to detect someone’s gestures and translate them onto an avatar. This enables people who aren’t attending the ‘real’ life event share in the experience and interact with each other in a virtual environment. Able to incorporate live audio, presentation slides and video footage it could even form the basis for conferences of the future.
