Sales & Technical Pre-Sales

Systems Technology Group (STG): Comprises the hardware line including servers and storage devices. This consists of IBM's entire line of server products from Web servers through to large enterprise systems.

There are five product families within Systems Group. These are; eServer xSeries (Intel based), eServer pSeries (UNIX based), eServer iSeries, eServer zSeries and TotalStorage.

Within STG, we seek students with experience Unix based hardware systems, good communication skills, and an understanding of Business & IT.

Software Group (SWG): Provides the widest range of middleware in the industry - "middleware" is the software layer on which customers and developers build and connect together the applications that drive their business strategies for key areas such as managing relationships with customers (CRM) or e-commerce (on-line sales between businesses). There are five product families within SWG: Lotus, Rational, Tivoli, WebSphere, Information Management.

Interns in STG and SWG will assist Brand Sales Specialists with specific client based opportunities to develop sales and technical expertise. They will be responsible for doing market research, identifying potential clients, understanding the client needs, assisting in the creation of innovative solutions based on those needs, and assisting with presentations and other communication materials.


Business & Management

Global Business Services (GBS): Born out of the fusion of IBM's former Business Innovation Services (BIS) and PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (PwCC) following the latter's acquisition in 2002. The world's largest consultancy operation, it offers customers a unique combination of Information Technology (IT) services & business and management consulting.

Its mission is to deliver lasting economic advantage for customers, helping them to capitalize on IT to improve their business performance.

Within this business unit, we seek students with experience in Business Consulting

Interns in this role will assist consultants to determine client business issues and recommend solutions to drive business value. They will develop in-depth consulting skills and business knowledge aligned to business objectives, processes, measurements and tools to analyze their clients business issues, formulate hypotheses and test conclusions to determine appropriate solutions.
