What we offer:
Our Education Internships can take between 1 and 3 months. During your time with us, you'll work on challenging projects in the SWG (Software Group) or the STG (Systems and Technology Group) business line and become familiar with the corporate environment.
The schedule is flexible and the environment is relaxed. Worried about getting 'lost' in such a vast organisation? Don't be. We take in between 50 and 60 student interns a year who are at the same point in their studies and starting out at IBM. Just like you. So there's plenty of opportunity for you to be supported and share knowledge with like-minded people.
Ultimately, and most importantly of all, you'll be working with some of the best people in our industry who'll be mentoring you plus you'll have access to IBM's knowledge resources.
Prove yourself on the programme and it could be the first step on a full career with us. Our best & brightest interns will have the opportunity to join IBM as regular employees or join one of the 'On the job' internships.
What we look for:
You should be attending university studying an IT/technical degree. You'll need to be in your second year as a minimum, have excellent academic results and good English-language skills. You’ll also have to demonstrate excellent analytical, problem solving and team working skills. Not to mention a proactive attitude. You will need energy and creativity, combined the mental agility to analyse and solve problems, and the intellect and confidence to challenge accepted practices.
The skills we look for in all potential employees are called the IBM Foundational Competencies. These are the skills you need to be successful at IBM. When you apply think about these skills and how you can demonstrate them when completing your application form and at interview. You can use examples from your education, work experience, voluntary work, involvement in clubs and societies or hobbies.
We organize 4 editions of educational internships every year (n the Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn). On each of these 4 occasions, 20 selected students are invited to an Assessment Day where they learn more about IBM and the internship program and are also required to prepare and present a selected topic. About 15 of the students who've been successful on the Assessment are selected for our Educational Internship program.
Are you up for the challenge?
Send your application to email@example.com referencing 'Educational Internship' in the subject of your email. And don't forget to attach your CV. Good luck!
What we offer:
The work you undertake during your ‘on the job’ internship is really valued and you'll be given worthwhile, exciting things to do on real projects and you’ll be trusted and given real responsibility. This means you can grow your knowledge, develop yourself, and get paid for it - you’ll have a civil contract for the whole duration of your internship.
The duration of our ‘on the job’ internships may vary (depending on the projects you’ll be working on) and the schedule is flexible. You’ll receive great support from your mentor and world class training, so it’s up to you how much you make of the development opportunities that are available to you here at IBM. It will only limited by your imagination.

And if you're thinking longer term - perhaps about a full-time contract - whilst we can't guarantee you a job offer upon completion of an internship, we can guarantee that all high performers will be seriously considered.
What we look for:
As an IT student, our ‘On the job’ internship programme is a dream come true. To apply for this internship program you need to have an IT degree background and to be in your third year as a minimum. We've defined and refined these to set out our foundational competencies, which complement our values and identify the skills you'll need to succeed.
