VDAB (Vlaamse Dienst voor Arbeidsbemiddeling en Beroepsopleiding) is the official Flemish public employment service. It is supervised by Frank Vandenbroucke, the Vice President of the Flemish Government and Flemish minister for Employment and Education. |
VDAB Oostende wanted to upgrade and modernize its services by using current communications technology to reach its clients and job seekers in a faster, more friendly and more efficient way.
The end goal was for employers to find suitable employees faster and for job seekers to end their job hunt as quickly as possible. |
IBM Global Business Services consultants developed a solution that uses Siebel software as the motor that drives the job information engine.
This allowed VDAB to quickly inform all job seekers of new opportunities that fit their profile. It drastically improved the service, communication and interface between VDAB and its target audiences.
With this smart system, job seekers automatically receive job offers by e-mail. Those without e-mail receive a text message instead. The third alternative allows VDAB to inform job seekers by post.
Today, all 4,000 employees in 13 regions of VDAB offer this service to their job applicants. |
VDAB's solution required in-depth strategic consulting, a proper understanding of the client's business requirements and extensive technical configuration work and workflow knowledge. The talented people working on this project were all CRM consultants.
They all held university-level degrees and had at least three years of experience with Siebel. They consequently had the right set of skills and abilities required to translate VDAB's business requirements into technical implementations. |
