What is your current role?
I am currently working for the Lotus Customer Satisfaction Project Office, as EMEA Critical Situations Manager. My role is to manage customer satisfaction and coordinate the overall effort towards resolving their highest impact technical issues. This means pulling together virtual teams, from around the world, with the necessary skills or knowledge to drive a critical situation to closure as fast as possible. In my daily work I liaise with our different development organisations, software group executives, product management, technical support management and consulting services all around the globe.

What else are you involved in outside your role?
I am proud to be on the global GLBT Executive Task Force, where I look after Workplace Climate issues for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender people in EMEA. IBM was among the first major companies to add sexual orientation to its United States non-discrimination policy in 1984. This has since become global policy and has been extended to include "gender identity or expression".

IBM is a company where GLBT employees are treated with equity and respect. Any GLBT employee can trust that it is safe to be out in the workplace. Personally, this means that I can talk openly about my relationship, and celebrate the pregnancy of my partner with my co-workers and management, without fear. I don't waste energy hiding a part of who I am so I can fully devote myself to my job.
