What we offer
At IBM you'll gain knowledge and experience like nowhere else. You'll also be challenged and supported to achieve everything you wanted in your career.
But don’t just take our word for it. When we asked some of our current graduates what words they felt accurately described working at IBM, there were 3 clear winners: innovative, friendly, flexible.
We offer an attractive salary – this will be calculated based on your experience, education background and the total number of credits units. We’ll also give you a laptop and a mobile phone.
We’ll offer you a flexible part time contract of 6 up to 12 months.
Join IBM and you can also join a variety of sports teams and take part in a range of recreational activities.
Nearly 100 students join us every year, which means you’ll instantly join a community of like – minded people. When you start, you’ll be invited to join our Young IBMers Club where you can network with our current IBM students and graduates. The club actively arranges social gatherings, workshops and educational workshops. It’ll also help you meet and get to know other new IBMers so you can even sort out shared accommodation.
You’ll be surrounded by smart and inspirational colleagues and you’ll be supported every step of the way in your day to day job. Not to mention that we’ll also provide you with coaching to shape and complete your thesis work!
Support & Training
How we support you
For day-to-day tasks, you’ll have a Task Manager who’ll help you manage your workload and give you the opportunity to get involved with new projects.
Your Task Manager will also monitor your ongoing professional development. During the year you'll have regular reviews to assess your progress and to discuss your future career plans. You will work with your Task Manager to develop a plan for your year that clearly states your objectives and includes all the training you’ll need.
You will also have an experienced IBM Buddy whom you can talk to about absolutely anything: the buddy is there to support you!
Your training & development
When you join IBM your Task Manager and IBM Buddy will help you to settle in. During the first week you will have an HR induction, which will help you understand how IBM works and how we operate.
Once you have settled, we focus on 2 areas of development:
There are literally hundreds of courses available and it will be up to you to find the ones that are most appropriate and appealing to you. In addition, we support trainees with their university thesis work along side the traineeship.
