The graduate network

As a graduate at IBM you will have the opportunity to be part of the graduate network which is run by graduates. It provides support for new graduates as well as creating a fun, collaborative environment in which to work.

Buddy/Mentor Program for graduates

You will be assigned a buddy, who will support you in acquiring the skills, tools and expertise to fulfill the job. There will also be opportunities to engage a mentor, who will provide valuable guidance and feedback to become successful in the job-role. As a graduate at IBM you will receive enhanced support from your Professional Development manager, who will help you plan your development and guide you on your future career path.

Skill development

Whether you're focusing on business or personal skills development, we have our own dedicated training organization to help. There are literally hundreds of courses available for you to choose from. And it's not all about sitting in a classroom. You'll have the flexibility to fit your training in around you – with down-loadable courses, pod-casts and web-casts.

Career development

You'll have 2 managers at IBM. A Professional Development Manager and a Business Manager. Your Business Manager is there to manage you on a day-to-day basis, and overseeing the activities you're working on. Your Professional Development Manager is there to help you manage your career and your professional development.

You'll work with your Professional Development Manager to create your Development Plan. This will identify:

Nearly 100 students and graduates join us every year, so although IBM is a huge organisation, you’ll instantly be part of a community of like-minded individuals.

You’ll find yourself working in a friendly environment with talented colleagues. And given the size and scale of our business you’ll experience huge variety in the work that you’ll get involved with and you’ll work with a range of clients across all types of business.

When you start, you’ll be invited to join our Young IBMers Club where you can network with our current IBM students and graduates. The club actively arranges social gatherings, workshops and educational workshops. It’ll also help you meet and get to know other new IBMers so you can even sort out shared accommodation.
