What we do

A World Leader in Services

IBM's revenue from services overtook those from hardware back in 2001. More than half of the company's UK employees now work within its services organisation, making IBM the world leader in IT services and consultancy, with unrivalled experience within both the public and private sectors.

IBM's success here is confirmed by a number of awards, including 2007 Best Outsourcing Supplier, as voted by the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals (IAOP) for the second year in succession.

In addition, independent research ranked us as the world's leading application management services in 2006 - a title the company has held for four consecutive years.

Globally, IBM is the largest business and technology services provider, and in the Belgium, IBM professionals work on site with hundreds of public and private sector organisations, helping them to operate in the most effective, competitive way.

IBM provides a range of IT services that help clients access, manage and support their technology, using a combination of skilled resources, software and IBM's knowledge of business processes.

Services can meet certain business needs - such as security, business continuity, maintenance and technical support, integrated communications, Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) services, service management or asset recovery. They can also be structured for specific industries, including retail or public sector.

IBM integrates business insight and innovation to provide outsourcing services as well as Applications on Demand, a solution for the management of web-based infrastructure and business applications. IBM also provides services that tackle common business issues facing smaller and mid-sized companies.

The continuing growth of IBM's services business confirms that clients trust us to implement, run and refresh their IT infrastructures, leaving them to concentrate on their core businesses.

IBM's team of highly skilled, experienced consultants offers management and IT consulting services. They are engaged with government departments, NHS Trusts, and some of the most respected companies in the UK on innovative transformation projects.

The scope of engagements ranges from 10-year, multi-million pound business transformational programmes, to two or three-day evaluation studies. Both can make a real difference to a company's future.

Not one single company can rival IBM in this area. IBM consultants help clients articulate where they want their businesses to be, and then put forward the best solutions to get them there. This may - or may not - include IBM's hardware, software and services. If it does, IBM's teaming approach ensures a client has easy access to the best available technology.

IBM's own consultancy and sales specialists work with a massive network of Business Partners, and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to deliver tailored hardware and software solutions to meet clients' needs.

IBM also has dedicated teams focusing on mid-size companies, including its direct sales and support channel, ibm.com, which is an integrated Web and call centre operation.

There's no doubt that this ability to consult, execute and deliver makes IBM stand out from the crowd.
