Martin Jetter, General Manager and Chairman of the Board IBM Germany / IBM Deutschland GmbH


Martin Jetter, 49, is General Manager of IBM Germany since November 2006. He was previously head of IBM Global Business Services in Northeastern Europe.

Mr. Jetter joined IBM in 1986. Before taking charge of IBM Business Consulting Services in February 2004 he had since January 2001 been in charge of the worldwide business with IBM’s customer Siemens. In the position of General Manager he was previously based in the United States, heading IBM’s worldwide Product Lifecycle Management business. From October 1999 to April 2000 Martin Jetter worked at IBM’s Corporate Headquarters in Armonk, NY, as Executive Assistant to IBM Chairman and CEO Louis V. Gerstner, Jr. As head of the Industrial Sector he was responsible for implementing IBM’s Strategy in the Manufacturing and Process Industry in Central Europe.

Mr. Jetter has spent the major part of his management career in Marketing and Sales working with large Industrial clients around the world. He has also been responsible for the transformation of critical business segments in Central Europe. From 2000 to 2005 Martin Jetter managed the IBM Branch Office in Munich, Germany, and in that capacity officially represented IBM’s interests with the State of Bavaria and its State Capital, Munich.

Martin Jetter holds a degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Technology in Stuttgart, Germany.

He plays golf, skis and is interested in French art. He has been a handball player, coach and referee.
