ADINT/TSM is an intelligent interface module for SAP MaxDB® databases to perform backup and restore operations using the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager® (TSM).
ADINT/TSM seamlessly integrates SAP MaxDB with TSM to combine the individual products’ strengths: SAP MaxDB provides its proven interfaces and functions for backup and recovery functionality and acts as single point of control for backup data completeness and consistency. TSM contributes its leading storage management capabilities to manage the backup repository and creates an inseparable link between backup object and associated metadata for failsafe retrieval by SAP MaxDB.
ADINT/TSM moves data between SAP MaxDB and TSM in a continuous, single step process. It does not need intermediate storage of the data, and hence provides a most simple, robust and performant backup/restore data transfer operation.
